Episode 102: Chris Giarrusso

André Myette Season 5 Episode 102

André growing up always had a deep appreciation for the Mini Marvel features in the Marvel Bullpen section of Marvel Comics. Now he gets to talk to the man who made it possible!

Chris Giarrusso started his writing and art career as a child by replacing the text and drawings in newspaper comic strips with his own. Realizing he could skip the whiteout, he began using blank paper instead. In 1999, he created the popular Mini Marvels for Marvel Comics, writing and illustrating numerous strips and stories. He also introduced the fan-favorite character Elephant Steve and illustrated The Amazing Adventures of Nate Banks series for Scholastic. Today, Giarrusso is best known for his graphic novel series G-Man, about a young superhero with a magic cape loved by all ages.

Chris talks about selling original art vs commissions, getting his start at Marvel and the evolution of his beloved all ages book G-Man!
